"My dark days made me strong. Or maybe I already was strong, and they made me prove it..." — Unknown author via Goodreads
Sometimes I look out the large window in my living room and can tell if it's going to be a gloomy kinda day just by the lack of sunshine outside. That's not always the case though. Sometimes, a sneaky dark cloud might hover over my front yard, fooling me into thinking I need to ready up an umbrella and rain boots, or perhaps just skip the trip into town altogether.
It is interesting how the movement of the clouds can change a persons' perspective on how things will go on any given day. I had one of those seemingly "gloomy" days today, where I looked out and thought it was going to be a sad and uneventful day. I put on a jacket, and determined to just complete then most important thing in my todo list for the day, because in my mind, I was not going to be energetic enough to get a lot done.
I got in my car, and once settled and buckled in, began to set up my GPS unit in order to quickly go and return from my destination because a cozy blanket was going to be waiting for my return. I have to tell you that while typing the address, the clouds did their dancing and move away, displaying a most brilliant sunshine. Suddenly, I felt energized and ready to face the day.
Isn't that how life deals often? We get perplexed because what we perceive as gloomy, sad, unreachable, dark, and lackluster, might not be so after all. I often tell people; "if we remember how God was with us in past struggles, why would we doubt He will care the same now?" What I am trying to say is, buckle up and put on hour shades! If you wait long enough, the clouds will move out of the way, and the sun will shine again.
